2610 Salem Ave. Lubbock Texas
Mano Negra Brewing Co. is Lubbock’s first and only Latino-owned nano brewery. Our mission is to craft beverages that are as unique and flavorful as our patrons, while also celebrating Latino culture and heritage.
We opened our doors in January 2021, but our story starts long before that. In 2014, owner and brew master, Daniel Badillo and his family moved to Lubbock, Texas from Puerto Rico. Daniel always dreamed of opening his own business, but did not necessarily think of opening a brewery. His passion for brewing, however, began to develop when his wife, and co-owner, bought him a homebrew kit for Christmas. In May 2017, Daniel decided that if he was to open his own business it was "now or never" and began developing the idea of Mano Negra. He started small, selling craft sodas at Wolfforth Farmers Market. That same summer, while eating lunch at Walk-Ons Sports Bistreaux, he wrote his plan to open a brewery on the back of a napkin that aptly stated the phrase, “Your Idea Here”. By 2018, he acquired a space in Cactus Alley and spent the next two years bringing his vision to life. In 2021, Daniel quit his 9-5 job to dedicate his time to Mano Negra.
Today, Mano Negra Brewing Co. continues to grow and flourish, but we have never lost sight of our roots. You can still find us every Saturday at the Wolfforth farmers market selling the same craft sodas that got us to where we are today.
